You step out to a heavily overcast sky, clouds so dark and dense, it seems it’s evening already. Gentle cold breeze blows in your face, ruffling your hair out of place. Lush green trees sway to the rhythm of the wind. Buildings that seemed so harsh in the broad daylight of the scorching summer, seem so dull and humble – almost scenic.
Just then, that anticipated drop of water falls on the parched land, leaving its uneven round mark as it does so. And then, as if on cue, a thousand tiny droplets make their way to quench the thirst of the dusty, arid ground.
Soon, you feel yourself getting drenched in the cool, fresh water; drops happily splashing on your skin, creating a happy tickling sensation. You sigh and take a long deep breath, with it taking in the peculiar sweet fragrance of the damp earth. The sudden freshness and crispness of nature overwhelms you.
You realize how little it takes to make a person happy – getting to sit in a crowded bus, catching a favorite song on the radio, smile from a loved one and rains.
Rains! A small word that conjures up a million memories and emotions.
Happy Rains people 🙂
